Helen C. Dixon

Helen has been working creatively at Alby Crafts & Gardens for 20 years. Helen's work has evolved from being almost entirely sculptural, to her current focus on decorative ceramics, specifically sgraffito and raku techniques, creating two very contrasting bodies of work.

Light, colourful and bold carved plates, bowls and vases and rich dark boxes and ornamental pieces, all inspired by the things that feature in the other aspects of Helens life…

In the case of raku, simple but bold use of beautiful coloured glazes used sparingly to set off the smoke blackened clay.
